Pension Westfalia Bed & Breakfast in Munich

Pension Westfalia is a bed and breakfast located just a few minutes from the heart of Munich and Marienplatz. In spite of its central location, the setting is quiet; in fact it is just a stone's throw from the Theresienwiese, a large open space in Munich's Ludwigsvorstadt-Isarvorstadt borough that once served as the city's exhibition grounds and was bustling with activity throughout the year. Now this public park is a tranquil destination, except during the Oktoberfest season in the fall.

Access to the B&B is convenient: the nearest subway stop is just a two minutes' walk away. From the Goetheplatz subway station, the ride to Marienplatz is just four minutes (two stops).

What people say

  • The rooms are comfortable if spare, with high ceilings and big windows to let in lots of light. You can save money by booking a room with a shared bathroom. A good breakfast buffet is included in the room rate. The proprietor, Peter Dieritz, and his staff are friendly and helpful. There's an U-Bahn station at the corner and Marienplatz is only two stops away.
  • Literally a stumble away from the Oktoberfest meadow a stately four-storey villa conceals this cosy, family-run guesthouse, a serene base for sightseeing (outside the beer fest). Rooms are reached by lift and the cheaper ones have corridor facilities. Our independent authors have visited Pension Westfalia and selected this as one of our recommended accommodation in Munich.
  • The staff was very friendly and very helpful. This is not a 5 star hotel, but it is very good, very clean and very friendly. We wouldn`t think of staying anywhere else in Munich but the Pension Westfalia, and we highly recommend it to everyone. A special thanks to Peter for making our trip to Munich, Oktoberfest and the Pension Westfalia an unforgettable one!
  • I highly recommend Pension Westfalia as a place to stay on a visit to Munich. It is a two minute walk from Goetheplatz - which is two stops from the Hauptbahnhof (with a train change) and Marienplatz. (...) Peter was a great host. We stayed at for five nights and couldn`t have been happier with our choice.
  • Prefect location for Oktoberfest. We stayed here the first time in 1978 and love it! The breakfast is one of the best we have had at a small pension and the staff very friendly and extremely helpful.
  • This location is directly across the street form Oktoberfest. Also, the area behind Pension Westfalia has plenty of shops, restaurants, grocery stores, post office and currency exchange. The pension is clean and the staff are simply wonderful. Peter is helpful and always in a cheery mood. Breakfast is such a treat to have it right in the pension.
  • My wife and I stayed here while visiting Oktoberfest and would say it has to be the most conveniently located hotel in all of Munich. The owner/manager Peter was absolutely delightful and couldn`t do enough to help us
  • Clean basic bed and breakfast with a great location right on the grounds were all the tents and events happen for Octoberfest.Eazy walk to the metro and safe area.
